here it goes...
Once upon a time, there's this knight who fell in love with a princess. The knight went over to the princess and proclaim his love for her, asking for her hand. The princess, did not agree, neither did she reject. "Wait outside the palace for 100 days. If I agree to marry you, you will see me step out of the palace." the princess said to the knight. Braving storms, winds and sun, the knight continued to patiently guard outside the palace. Day after day, time passed, there was still no sight of the princess. And on the 99th day, the knight left. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .The knight wanted to preserve this hope that the princess will come out of the palace, meaning the love is mutual. In order to preserve this hope, he decided to leave, because the answer will never be known, and he can always believe that the princess will definitely come out. With that hope, the knight continued to love the princess forever.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many times in life, it's the same with all of us. We give our all, we presevere and strive to achieve that goal, be it at school, work or relationship. But just cause we can't seem to achieve it after sometime, after so much hard work, we tend to think that we might never be able to win or reach our goals or dreams. Then just when we are nearly there, we give up, afraid to face failure in the face. But how often have we actually given up at the very front of the gates of victory?
It's a pity isn't it? But that's the pain and the beauty of life. We can never predict or tell what will happen next. And that is also what makes actually getting there all the sweeter.
